# Glossary

### **`A`**

**AMM**. Automated Market Maker. Decentralized pools based on underlying smart contracts which enable people to buy/sell cryptocurrencies.

**APR** (Annual Percentage Rate). A rate of return that doesn’t take compounding into account.

**APY** (Annual Percentage Yield). The actual rate of return that will be earned in one year if interest is compounded.

**Autonio** – Automated Nexus of Intelligent Operations.

### **`D`**

**DAO** - Decentralized Autonomous Organization. An egalitarian entity set up for the governance and direction of a project or cause. It is inherently run by the people and for the people.

**DeFi** - Decentralized Finance. Financial cryptocurrency structures absent of centralized authorities and driven by smart contracts running on blockchain.

**DEX** - Decentralized Exchange. A peer-to-peer network allowing the exchange of cryptocurrencies.

### **`I`**

**IMM.** Intelligent Market Maker. Algorithmic AI market making approach enabling smarter and more logical trading.

**`L`**

**Liquidity** - The measurement of accessibility to an asset based on quantity available.

**Liquidity Pool** - Funds deposited for the purpose of providing liquidity for a particular asset.

**LP tokens.** Liquidity Pool tokens. Incentives for users who provide liquidity. They can be put to work in various yield farming opportunities.

**MetaMask** - Web3 crypto browser wallet.

### **`N`**

**NIOX** - Native token of the Autonio ecosystem.

**NIOX maker** - Cost-effective market making bot providing automated liquidity and volume building for selected crypto pairs.  

**NIOX Swarm** - Autonio's liquidity provision protocol. NIOX Swarm takes a marketplace-driven approach to market making, bringing crowdsourced liquidity to open orderbook based exchanges.

**NIOX Suite** - Autonio’s line of professional trading products.

### `P`

**Prosperism** – The philosophy behind Autonio. Its aim is to create a zero-loss decentralized ecosystem: to better achieve the generation and spreading of wealth, based on the incentivized and equitable sharing of assets between peers.

### **`S`**

**Smartdex** - Autonio’s native DEX, which comprises most of the top features in the marketplace.\
\
**Staking** - The process whereby a cryptocurrency is held in a given place (wallet, exchange), where interest or other benefits can be accrued.

### `V`

**Vaults** - Automate and optimize the best yields available in a given blockchain ecosystem.
